Day Twelve - Sat 10th of Sept

It was so nice wake up at Sharon's. It didn't feel like I had been there so long ago. Sharon made us a beautiful breakfast of fruit and muffins and we sat around and had a great time chatting. Sharon had bought Leah some cross stitch's and a scrapbooking pack. Leah loved learning from Sharon. It is in the genes I think. We went out for brunch at Sharon and Jim's favourite place. The staff were all so nice . George (our car) sounded a bit funny so when we got home Sharon and Jim phoned around to see if someone could have a look at it. It was funny because they were looking for their mechanics home number, but Aunt Betty had it because the last time the mechanic had to do something on Aunt Betty's car he asked her if she could pay him in her delicious home made pies. Aunt Betty is one of the best cooks in the world.
While we were waiting for the mechanic Sharon, Aunt Betty, Leah and I sat around talking and Lucy slept. Sharon made up a pack of sewing stuff for Leah. Leah started another backstitching project. Ward really enjoyed spending time with
Jim. He said he is a top bloke, really nice guy.
Ralph their neighbour came over to look at the car and then we were right to go. It was sad to leave but we are planning on going down for Thanksgiving so we will see them all again. Lucy loved Miss Molly their dog. Well to be honest we all loved her. If we could we would have packed her up and taken her with us. Miss Molly liked Ward the most though.

Well on the Road Again!! this time we were headed for Portland over night and then onto Seattle. We thought this would be only about 4 and half hours but we hit bad traffic from Eugene Oregon to Salem. There had been a College football game in Eugene and we hit the traffic as it finished. There were heaps of cars with ducks, green and yellow and Os on them. We had booked into a Best Western for the night in Portland. As we came into Portland Lucy and Leah fell asleep. Lucy always seems to fall asleep when I need to pee. I was so busting. As we came into Portland we hit a mega freeway, really pretty but a bit crazy. Once again Ward did well. I was a bit freaked by it.

Once we got in I said to Ward find the nearest bathroom. Plus we needed to find the address for the Best Western as Ward hadn't written it down. We found the McDonalds and then phoned Mum to see if she could get the address. It had been a long trip. Thanks to Mum we got the address and found the hotel. It was the same price as the Super 8 before but alot lot nicer. Once again we unpacked the whole car. It was nice knowing this was the last time we were going to have to do it for a long time.
